One of my favorite summer time guilty pleasures are word puzzles.
There’s just something so relaxing about letting your eyes wander on the page to find the hidden words. It reminds me of how l find the hidden messages in a person’s lip print.

Sometimes, a distraction is a good thing!
Reconnecting with pleasurable experiences can relax us and give us a feeling of well being.
Those experiences can be nostalgic ones connecting us with fun times and people from our past.
Virtual socializing can distract you from the reality of isolation. And connecting with our friends and family is healthy for our well-being and our brains. Creating a fun social hour can be exciting and bring on anxiety if you are technically challenged. Good news is, Zoom is really easy to use and very accessible for most people.
Everyday, I am getting calls from women wanting lip print parties for birthday celebrations, reunions or just an evening with a small group of close friends.
I can tell that they are the “fun ones” of their group . That friend who is always thinking of something special to do for others or the one that comes up with the perfect theme for an amazing charity event that everyone talks about for weeks on end.
Since everyone is getting used to using virtual conferencing, it’s easy to pull everyone together for some fun. Having an activity for the group to do together can be a wonderful distraction, create friendly competition and give people time to escape all the other things going on in their personal life (that probably everyone doesn’t really want to hear about anyway).
Perks of virtual parties:
- You don’t have to clean the house or bathrooms. Dog and kid toys can stay put on the floor or wedged in the couch.
- Everyone brings their own drink and eats. No worrying about feeding high maintenance friends. Gives them something to talk about.
- Come as you are. No one needs to get fancy on virtual. If you must, then a bright top, some earrings, a little lipstick and you’re good to go! No one will know if you choose to wear shorts, sweat pants or flip flops off camera.
- Your friends and family can live far away and Zoom in for an hour. If you forgot that someone drives you crazy or is an expert button pusher- then you only have to deal with them for a short amount of time. It’s easier than family Thanksgiving dinner or a cocktail party!
Virtual parties give you quality time with your friends. And that’s priceless!
